What are the key improvements in the NVIDIA H100 GPU?

The NVIDIA H100 and H200 GPUs bring several important improvements:
4th-generation Tensor Cores:These Tensor cores are designed to perform matrix computation faster than ever. They handle AI and HPC workloads — those requiring high compute performance — more efficiently across multiple tasks.
Transformer Engine:The H100 GPU pairs with the new Transformer Engine to deliver a substantial speed increase. It accelerates AI training by up to 9× and AI inference by up to 30× compared with the previous-generation A100, which is particularly valuable for large language models.
NVLink networking:The GPUs use the new NVLink interconnect, which enables fast GPU-to-GPU communication. It can link up to 256 GPUs across multiple nodes, allowing efficient data exchange and parallel processing.
Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) security:MIG security partitions the GPU into separate instances and optimizes quality of service (QoS) for each smaller workload. This ensures that different workloads running on the GPU do not affect one another, improving overall performance and security.

What is the performance difference between the A100 and H100 GPUs?

Where the A100 GPU offers 6,912 CUDA cores, the H100 has 16,896. NVIDIA GPU chips contain CUDA cores, the equivalent of CPU cores. They can perform many calculations at once, which is essential for modern AI/ML and graphics workloads.

Can I request a custom configuration for my GPU server?

We use SSH for Ubuntu instances and RDP for Windows.
