What is VKS?

VKS is a Kubernetes platform built on HiTechCloud's public cloud infrastructure, providing a complete virtualization environment at the operating system (OS) layer.
With VKS you can deploy Kubernetes in the cloud on highly available virtual machine infrastructure that scales easily across both on-premises and cloud environments.
This solution lets users develop, test and distribute their applications on Kubernetes easily and securely.

How do I register for a VKS trial?

VKS carries no management fee at all for individuals and businesses that want to try the service. To request a trial, fill in the registration form below. Once we have your details, the HiTechCloud support team will be in touch within 2–3 business days.

I would like a customized service or product — can you provide a detailed quote?

There is currently no usage fee for the VKS managed service platform. You are charged only for the resources you consume, such as compute, load balancers and volumes. For custom service pricing, please contact HiTechCloud for assistance.

In the portal, VKS allows a maximum of 10 worker nodes. Can I deploy a Kubernetes cluster with more than 10 worker nodes?

If your requirements exceed 10 worker nodes on a single Kubernetes cluster, our engineering team can raise the maximum node count for your cluster. Contact HiTechCloud for details.

Can worker nodes within a single node group have different settings?

No. At present, all worker nodes in a node group share the same settings.

Can worker nodes from different worker groups in the same cluster have different configurations?

Yes. You can create different worker groups for the worker nodes you have configured. VKS lets you create multiple worker nodes within the same cluster.

Which operating system do the worker nodes use?

At present, worker nodes run Ubuntu 22.04.

Can I upgrade my cluster version?

VKS supports upgrades to the latest Kubernetes versions for both the control plane and node groups, so you stay current with new features.

How do I move a cluster from Google Kubernetes Engine to VKS?

To migrate a cluster from one cloud provider to another — whether an on-premises environment or from vContainer to VKS — we recommend using Velero. You can find a detailed guide on using Velero to migrate a cluster here. If you need help migrating your cluster, please contact HiTechCloud.

Does VKS support Load Balancer and Volume integration?

VKS supports Load Balancer and Volume integration. VKS exposes NLB/ALB management through Kubernetes YAML, so you can publish a Kubernetes Service externally without extra tooling.
