An availability zone is cloud infrastructure deployed separately across data centers within the same geographic region. Each AZ has independent power, cooling and network connectivity in order to limit the impact of a localized failure.
The AZs are interconnected by high-speed, low-latency links with multiple redundant paths, so data moves between them without interruption. Multi Availability Zone is a model for running VPS instances, databases and application services across multiple AZs on the Public Cloud platform.
Several virtual machines serving the same workload, such as a web service or a database service, are placed in different availability zones, combined with a load balancer and data replication.
Limits the impact of hardware faults, software incidents, power loss or natural disasters confined to a single AZ. Applications keep running on standby resources in another AZ.

The load balancer distributes traffic across healthy instances in the system, regardless of which AZ they sit in. This approach optimizes performance and prevents any single server from being overloaded.
Systems where downtime carries a heavy financial or operational cost — e-commerce, online banking, ERP, CRM — need Multi-AZ to improve fault tolerance and maintain availability.
Automatically adjusts the number of VPS instances based on traffic demand, so applications have enough resources to absorb fluctuations while maintaining consistent performance.
For distributed applications, or applications serving several user groups, Multi-AZ spreads resources across multiple availability zones, reducing latency and improving scalability in each region.
